When we got to Liverpool, it was absolutely freezing! We had to walk past the docks, and as we were doing so, I managed to capture some photos of them.
As I walked into the gallery, I saw an ornate looking mirror which appeared to have a baroque styled pattern on which I really liked.
As we started to walk around, I saw a pretty stained glass window with a repeated geometric pattern on it. I think repeated and geomatric patterns really work together. This is one thing I think I could take further and research a bit more into.
This was all on the ground floor and other than this, there wasn't anything else that I thought I could relate to and use as inspiration. It was starting to look like I wouldn't be getting much inspiration and ideas from this visit. It was just a chance to gather some useless primary research (well at this point it seemed useless, but we were told to be open minded and think about our FMP)
On the first floor, however there were more than a couple of things that I was inspired by. There was a cubist looking mirror arrangement that was just breathtaking! I think that could actually sell as a mirror - I would definitely buy it!
The whole purpose of the trip was to be inspired and when I first got to the gallery, I thought that was the last thing that would be happening! It was when I set my eyes upon the peacock sculpture that everything changed. It was absolutely gorgeous - glamorous and sparkly. This definitely needs more researching!
